How to Avoid Common Interview Mistakes

Walking into a interview is sometimes a stressful situation. Avoiding a few common mistakes can put you above the rest and help you land the job.

   The first thing you will want to do is not come to the interview with an arrogant attitude. Your potential future employer isn't going to be impressed with some one that seems like that are better than everyone else. Don't talk yourself down but don't make it seem your better than everyone including your future boss.

   Don't answer your cell phone during the interview process. This is a highly inappropriate behavior. Just use common sense. Always be polite and courteous to the person that is giving you the interview.

   Always listen to the person giving you the interview. When they ask you a question about anything listen then give an appropreiate answer. If you constantly asking "What was that" during the interview becuase you are not listening the person will pick up on this and most likely not give you the job.

   Dress for success for the interview. This means a good suit or whatever is suitable for the job you are interviewing for. Make sure you have proper hygiene and your clothes are clean and neat.

   During the interview don't put down any of you previous employers. This will not make them look bad. It will only make you look bad and disrespectful.

   Before you go to the interview take the time to learn about the company you are interviewing for. If you are asked a question about the company you will have the answer. The person giving you the interview will be very impressed with this and will put you far above the other people that have interviewed for the job.

   When the interview is over be sure to ask the interviewer when they plan on making a decision for who they are going to hire for the job opening. This will let you know when you can expect an answer and let you not make the mistake of calling them back too early before they have made a decision.
